What Is Visian ICL?

Unlike LASIK, which reshapes the cornea, Visian ICL surgery involves the implantation of a small removable lense between the iris and the eye’s natural lens. A surgeon inserts the lens through a small gap in the cornea and secures its edges behind the iris. The implanted lens then works together with the eye’s natural lens, helping light focus on the retina.
Visian ICL is a minimally invasive procedure with high rates of success and patient satisfaction. It’s typically performed as a same-day outpatient procedure and usually lasts no longer than 30 minutes. Afterward, patients are given prescription eye drops (and, in some cases, mild sedatives) to help the eyes heal and adjust. Since Visian ICL is minimally invasive, it offers short recovery timelines, with many patients noticing results almost immediately.
