When starting Kleiman|Evangelista Eye Center back in 1999, co-founder Anthony Evangelista, M.D. felt that in order to give patients premium care, he needed to know first-hand all about the LASIK experience. So, 15 years ago, he underwent the procedure himself.
“Prior to my surgery, my glasses prescription was about -6.00 so I was a relatively high myope (nearsighted). For the last fifteen years, I have enjoyed excellent vision free from the burden of glasses and contact lenses. And I am not alone.
Recently, the Food and Drug Administration/National Eye Institute/Department of Defense LASIK Quality of Life Project reported its preliminary results of a patient satisfaction survey that was collected over several years from patients who underwent LASIK surgery. Not surprisingly, over 96 percent of patients reported that they were satisfied with their vision following LASIK surgery.
It’s important to note that not everyone is an ideal LASIK candidate and there is no 100% guarantee that a person will be satisfied with their vision following LASIK surgery.
