Travel Made Simple – 4 Carry-on Packing Tips that Will Change the Way You Travel
Thanks to tighter luggage restrictions and the high cost of checked bags, frequent flyers have had to learn how to wrangle everything they need on the road into a 21-inch rolling carry-on bag.
If you travel for business, you may already be pretty skilled in this area. But, hey, there’s always room for improvement. Check out these four tips for packing a week’s worth of clothes, toiletries, and other essentials in just a carry-on bag—with plenty of room to spare.
1. Think Ahead. Launder or dry clean anything that needs it and set aside. This way, you won’t end up frantically washing clothes the night before your departure. And to make sure you don’t forget anything important, a good packing list is a must!
2. Plan Your Plane Outfit. Going to need a jacket or coat where you’re going? Wear it. Boots? Wear them. That will leave more much-needed room in your carry-on.
3. Connect with Your Hotel. Most hotels have hairdryers and toiletries for guests as well as adapters and chargers. A quick call to your hotel’s concierge desk can save lots of room in your luggage.
4. Have LASIK. Wait. What?! Well if you wear glasses or contacts, you know how much space all your gear takes up when traveling…contact solution, cleaner, cases, extra contacts in case you lose one, reading glasses, extra glasses, prescription sunglasses…and on and on.
LASIK could possibly give you freedom to enjoy your life with better vision AND give you some extra space in your carry-on bag. Win, win? We think so.
